Miss District of Columbia 2012 Allyn Rose is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, and completed her Masters in International Business law at the University of Mannheim in Germany where she now resides with her husband. This eight-for-eight semester Dean’s List scholar, was a member of the Student Senate, a Volleyball All American and national champion in artistic roller skating.

As Miss DC, Allyn ignited an international conversation about women's healthcare after going public with her decision to undergo a preventive double mastectomy. Allyn "went viral" and was featured on shows like the Today Show, Good Morning America, FOX and Friends and was a FOX Power Player of the Week. Allyn is now the Founder and President of The Previvor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non profit website that educates women of their breast reconstruction options after mastectomy. ​
