The Miss America Organization, the nation's leading achievement program and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for women, has extended its trusted and celebrated 84-year-old brand to include a national teen program for the first time ever!
Miss Teen District of Columbia is the face of the youth of the District of Columbia. She is a young lady who is proud to represent the Nation’s Capital both locally and nationally. Miss Teen DC competes in the annual Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida.
The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant 2010 will be held on August 15, 2009.
Miss Teen District of Columbia is poised, intelligent and talented. She is committed to serving her community through volunteerism and is awarded an academic scholarship to assist her upon entering the college or university of her choosing.
The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization is the “little sister” to the Miss America Organization. It is a scholarship based program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to be awarded funds for college. The program promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s Teens. In it’s four years of existence, the organization has awarded more than $3 million in college scholarships.
Moreover, the Miss Teen DC Organization has awarded, to it’s state titleholder’s, over $12,000.00 in cash and scholarships.
The Miss Teen DC Pageant is looking for contestants to compete for the title of Miss Teen DC 2009. The pageant will be held July 12, 2009 at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC. Auditions in interview and talent are scheduled to take place April 18, 2009.
